The connector's own docstring, verbatim. It lives beside the code so it cannot drift from it.
Egypt CAPMAS consumer-price connector.
CAPMAS exposes the complete CPI catalogue through its public statistics API: three separately based families (January 2007, January 2010, and 2018/19), published index levels, month-on-month and year-over-year rates, national urban/rural/total aggregates, republic areas, governorates, and a 70-entry category catalogue. Every response is archived as published and the base is part of every identity; no series is spliced across rebasing boundaries.
The API does not publish category parentage. Its category filters therefore remain a flat, source-native CAPMAS catalogue below the published General index rather than being guessed into COICOP. Arabic source labels are stored verbatim and CAPMAS's English filter translations are used for display. One nominally-English API translation remains Arabic (Port Said); its exact label is covered by the reviewed map in `translations/egy.json`.
